What is Mat Pilates?
Mat Pilates is performed on a mat using your own bodyweight, controlled movement, breath and, at times, added resistance such as small weights or props.
Classes focus on building core strength, posture, stability, endurance and full-body control. You will move through exercises that challenge your strength, balance and coordination while helping you become more aware of how your body moves.
Mat Pilates can be adjusted for different levels, but it is still a strong and challenging class. Options are provided so you can work at the right level for your body while continuing to build strength, mobility and confidence over time.

New to Mat Pilates?
Mat Pilates is suitable for all body types, abilities and fitness levels because movements can be adjusted to suit your body on the day.
You do not need to be fit, flexible or experienced to start. Your instructor will guide you through each movement and provide options so you can move safely, build confidence and work at your own pace.
All equipment is provided, including mats, hand weights, ankle weights and any props needed for class. Just arrive in comfortable activewear, bring grip socks if you have them, and we will guide you from there.

Do I need to bring my own mat or equipment?

No. All equipment is provided, including mats, hand weights, ankle weights and any props needed for class.
You just need to arrive in comfortable activewear and bring grip socks if you have them.
What should I wear?

Wear comfortable activewear that allows you to move freely, and bring a long grip socks.
Please avoid clothing that is too loose or restrictive. Long hair should be tied up before class.
Which class should I book first?

If you are new to Mat Pilates, we recommend starting with Flow Mat or All Levels Mat.
Flow Mat is a great option if you want a balanced class that combines Pilates, mindful movement and breathwork.
All Levels Mat is a stronger class that uses bodyweight movement and added resistance, with options provided so you can work at the right level for your body.
